Had a mouse get into my car at Lincoln Woods and eat a bunch of toilet paper, food packaging, and a big hole in my sweat pants :( |

| Surface Conditions: |
Snow - Packed Powder/Loose Granular, Snow - Unpacked Powder |

| Recommended Equipment: |
Snowshoes, Light Traction |

| Water Crossing Notes: |
Crossings just before Brutus BW were bridged but not totally solid. I would be wary if we get any rain or a thaw. |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Trails are in great shape and easy to follow. Both bushwhacks feel more like trails than anything. |

Lincoln Woods, Black Pond BW, Brutus BW
Camped out near Black Pond Monday night and went out and back to Owl's Head Tuesday. Passed 2 hikers when I was going in. They had wore microspikes the whole time without issue. I choose to use snowshoes car to car. They were not totally necessary but helped smooth out the trail after the BPBW. Probably around 2-3' of snow up high with more like 4-6" at Black Pond. Snowshoes were very helpful climbing up the Brutus BW. Shared the trail with two others who wore snowshoes on the Brutus BW and microspikes for Lincoln woods. Great hike to finish my winter 48! |
