Comments
Comments: Barebooted to slightly below the loop junction on the loop Tr as the snow is packed and sticky enough to ball spikes. Had snowshoes but they got a free ride on the pack as there wasn't anywhere where I would have preferred them over spikes. Poles are also very helpful for keeping balance while descending as the snow is a mix of grippy packed powder underneath 1-2" of fresh slippery unpacked powder. Substantial wind drift as the tracks of people who did the loop in the opposite direction were filled in the time it took to get from the main peak to the south peak. Might want crampons this weekend for slick, icy trails if the current forecast for rain on Friday holds.
