| Comments: |
All but one of the cars parked in the lot when I arrived were heading up to Weeks as a group. I saw only one other hiker near the summit. I wore snowshoes up and spikes back. Could have easily worn spikes the entire hike. The water crossings, especially the one that has what looks like a 12x4 across it, was an interesting venture with my MSR Revo’s.
Whoever broke this trail up Bunnell should receive a medal. There are zero blazes. On Kilkenny the blazes are yellow and quite evident, although I stopped at Cabot summit. All other trails off Kilkenny Ridge Trail are roughly broken out and would likely require snowshoes. York-Bunnell-Kilkenny Ridge to Cabot Summit has been broken out and has a solid trench formed. Thank you snowshoers for making that happen! |
