| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Beaver Brook lot fully plowed. When I passed Haystack Rd, didn’t look like there was any plowed parking at the gate. |
|
| Surface Conditions: |
Snow - Unpacked Powder, Snow - Drifts |
|
| Recommended Equipment: |
Snowshoes |
|
| Water Crossing Notes: |
Starting to freeze over...can’t see the rocks to hop over beneath the snow, just have to go and hope the thin ice holds you. Luckily these are small. |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Blazing on north twin trail is on point! Every time I started to wonder where the trail went, a blue blaze would appear. |

| Comments: |
6-10 inches of fresh powdery snow up here. Followed another solo hiker to the top of Gale River trail, took over trail breaking from there around to North Twin. Returned the same way, so there is the start of a lovely soft snowshoe track. Did not go up Galehead - Frost trail is not broken out yet.
Be mindful of water crossings, the ice is fragile but held for now..I’d worry if it gets warmer.. Thin snow cover down low but still definitely recommend snowshoes. |
