Snowshoes worn round-trip -- they are still very much required for this hike. The route is nowhere near ready for spikes or bare boots.
Thanks to Jeremy for the initial trail breaking this morning. I followed his track up and back and packed it down more, but the snow is still loose and needs more snowshoe traffic. I slipped off the trail at the junction with the woods road as the snow collapsed under foot and took a tumble, but it was a nice soft landing. Watch out for that spot.
Excellent views at the top and not a cloud in the sky. A beautiful day! |
