I always find Isolation hard in winter conditions even if broken out. We somehow missed the Birch Glade opening and ended up at #1 crossing. We spent some time getting back on course thus snowshoes. Two of the 3 of us have done grid. It just gets tricky along that stream area. The regular Isolation Trail is tracked out and Davis Path also. We switched back to micros around crossing #4. It was faster and easier. When we came back out, saw the tracks going in on BG and yet we had seen no tracks at other end coming in. We did get a good view from summit and managed to get out 5 minutes before total darkness. I now only have 16 left on 4's over age of 75. I'm sure conditions will change after the snowstorm. |
