Comments
Comments: Parker Hill is the newest addition to the MSG family of peaks, accessible via a new relocated 1.0 mi. section of trail, built to replace a section very recently closed by the landowner due to increased foot traffic. It leaves Center Pond Rd. about 0.3 mi. east of the old route where it turned onto a private driveway. The new section is nicely located with some switchbacks and generally easy grades and rejoins the old route a short distance south of Robinson Brook Cascades.

We made the climb up to the wooded summit of Parker (sign, cairn), then set off for the northwest bump, bushwhacking through very open woods. The NW bump is broad, fairly flat and not recognized. From there we bushwhacked down to the cascades, then looped back via the new section of trail.

Generally sloppy conditions with 1-3 in. of wet snow over mud and occasional puddles. My friend wore spikes for added traction, but I stuck with bare boots. Wet snow meant a lot of balling up. We encountered five other folks out there today. Warm temps with thick fog at midday but some sun as we finished.
