Saw a few happy pups on trail (including mine!)! ***REMEMBER:
Please leash your dogs and keep them in eye sight & under voice command. Nothing scarier than going up to S. Hancock in microspikes and having a dog with no owner in sight or ear shot bounding down at you and your dog.*** |

Great day hiking the Hancocks today! It was overcast all day as predicted but didn't rain until the last half hour of our hike.
We put microspikes on in the parking lot and wore them all day. The trail is well packed out and could probably be bare booted, but almost everyone I saw (with the exception of 1 person) had microspikes on today. We headed to S. Hancock first then over to N. Hancock. The ridge between is pretty well packed out as well, but not as well as down below (some more snow & you will need snowshoes). Then headed down N. Hancock & back to the parking lot. Snowshoes took a free ride today! There is alot of running water on the trail so be careful as it freezes- microspikes will be necessary!
Overall, great day hiking! |
