Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: I parked at roadside parking on Welton Falls Rd near the junction of the Lower Manning Trail (which is near Welton Falls). This is about as late as I would feel comfortable getting to this spot as the little non-town-maintained bridge was icy and on one end were really big puddles I couldn't tell how deep - but I recall from other seasons they aren't too deep. Signs on road said caution logging trucks. Welton Falls Road was almost too rutted for me and I have 4WD.

Comments
Comments: Hadn't been on this remote section of trail in a while - it's really pleasant. Unfortunately, I didn't wear winter boots and when the snow started to get deeper (at the Elwell Trail junction), my feet had just gotten too wet and I hit my turnaround time. I was kind of hoping to get to Mt Mowglis but I didn't really have enough time as I started at noon and it was starting to rain at turnaround time. I had visions of slipping off the bridge on Welton Falls Rd on my drive out and wanted to get that part of the driving over with. Very pleasant beaver ponds.
