Comments
Comments: Snowshoes are still the best choice.

Ammonoosuc Ravine Trail has seen some traffic and was moderately well packed. Heel risers on the snowshoes making life easier.

Crawford path was mixed conditions, rocks, ice, and deep snow and drifts. While it did appear as though someone without snowshoes had made the ascent before me, tracks were vanishing fast with the wind.

It did not appear as though anyone had been on the Westside Trail, although I did see one set of tracks crossing perpendicular and heading downhill. I hope that person found their way as visibility was poor and near white out. There was deep snow in places and snowshoes a must.

Gulfside was also a mix of rocks, ice, and deeper snow.

Jewell Trail was unbroken from Gulfside to about the half-way point, where someone had started up and then turned around. Above tree line there was deep snow. In the words of Mr. T, I pity the fool who attempts to ascend the upper portion of the Jewell Trail without snowshoes.
