| Comments: |
Snowshoes from start to finish. Snow was loose powder. Enough hikers wore snowshoes that the trail got more tracked out and a bit more packed down throughout the day. Bareboot/spikes dig in like sand without a firm snow base to launch from. Saw some postholes. Snowshoes recommended. It would be possible to ascend Monroe from the Clouds of the Lake hut with just spikes since the snow was wind swept. |
