| Comments: |
Temperatures ranged from about 38 degrees at Pinkham Notch to about 15 degrees on the summit. It was an unusually still day, as winds on the summit throughout most of the day ranged from about 2-8 mph. Tuckerman's Ravine trail was mostly rock, dirt, and ice for about the first 2 miles, and then turned to packed snow shortly before reaching the Lions Head trail. From the Lion's head trail to the summit, the trail turned from rock/ice to snow and back several times before reaching a point where crampons were beneficial to leave on. |
