Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Big blow down on Mt Tom Spur. Bushwhacked around it going up, crawled through it going down.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Current conditions were doable but tiring for dogs. Trail is not packed enough for them to stay on top, so little post holes all over. Me and my two dogs encountered one friendly well mannered canine friend.

Comments
Comments: Spikes would suffice on Avalon up to A-Z, but after that snowshoes are the way to go. A-Z trail is getting packed down pretty well, but it is still loose because there hasn’t been a thaw to consolidate it. Mt Willard trail looked well packed. Avalon trail from the junction with A-Z looked like only bare boots have been on it.

On Avalon trail about 1/2 mile in from the trailhead, there is a water crossing with two paths leading away. Go to the right unless you like bushwhacking. Don’t follow the crowd to the left!
