Water Crossing Notes

Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Several blowdowns on Krupa Loop and Ron's Way, including a few that majorly obstruct the trail and make it difficult to see where the trail goes. In addition, all of the trails had a lot of evergreens that bent over into the trail due to the weight of the snow/ice on them - they frequently obstructed the trail corridor and could make a beginner unsure where the trail continued. All signs were in place, and all trails were well blazed (though those blazes were occasionally covered by snow today).
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: I guess.
Bugs
Bugs: Not the time of year for them. :)
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Nada.

Comments
Comments: This was a nice loop on Oak Hill, with the goal of doing lots of trails that I hadn't done before. Most of the trails had footprints, and the ones that didn't were fairly easy to follow through the unbroken snow. Snow depths ranged from 2-3 inches at the trailhead, to around 6 inches on most of ridge, to up to a foot of snow at the summit. There was no sign of anyone wearing snowshoes (probably because at the trailheads it didn't seem like they'd be useful), but it's probably a good idea to bring them if you're going to the summit or on a less-used trail. I brought micro-spikes but never considered using them - there wasn't much ice, it was just snow. Nothing was really steep or particularly slippery.

Despite the substantial number of footprints I saw, I met only two other hikers.
