Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: The major crossing on the "herd path" you know the old trail that everyone uses but we sill call it the herd path? The water crossings were mostly difficult rock hops with most of the stepping stone under an inch of water or less. No ice on the rocks so it was good.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: There were a couple step overs and climb overs that a chainsaw or an axe would be required but not difficult to get by.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Yes happy dogs are wonderful, saw two today.

Comments
Comments: Wonderful weather and clear skies made it a fine day to summit this lovely peak. Since Sawyer River Road is still open many seasoned grid-ers were out tagging Carrigain for December. Bare ground all the way past the water crossings but traces of snow appeared as we climbed but nothing to worry about until the steeper sections with a good dusting increasing to a 3/16s of an inch by the time we reached the summit. None of us used traction on the way up. Big vista and just a breeze, we were entertained by 4 Gray Jays that were super beggers. All of us put our microspikes on our feet for the descent and kept them on until just past the view point on the ridge. Today was Danielle's birthday, Bria, Ashley, Jen, Mac hiked to the summit, Mac continued down Deception. We had a nice parking lot party with Hiker Ed supplying beverages. With calls for snow this weekend, i hope more people get out on Friday!
