Comments
Comments: Consider this one carefully for the next few days, at least. The ledges are currently sporting a fine glaze of ice in places where you'd rather they weren't. It's likely that it'll be gone by the weekend, although I hear we're supposed to get some weather by then, which will kick that can down the road an unpleasant amount. The ice wasn't an impossible barrier by any definition, but it did slow me down substantially -- there was a lot of thought to get to the top, and more than a couple times, it got pretty sketchy. That said, it was very warm and sunny today, and by the time I was lower down on Dicey's Mill trail, quite a lot of the snow had cooked off. So Your Mileage May Vary, as they say. Bring a backup plan, just in case. And of course, there's no shame in turning back. The mountains have been there for about 12,000 years. They'll be there for a few more weeks, I'm sure.

Photos and a more detailed report are on my blog as always.
