The stony brook crossing is high but coming down. I had to go up the brook about 100 yards to find a spot. |

Trails are both in good shape. |

| Dog-Related Notes: |
I brought my labrador and she was fine except for the last 50 ft. crux at the top! She sat at the bottom and howled at me while I bagged the peak. Had I known about the difficulty of this little move for dogs I probably would have picked the other route up. That said she is a bit of a wimp I think our older dog would have figured it out somehow. |

| Comments: |
Trail has some residual running water but it is quickly coming down. Freezing at this point will only make it better. I put the spikes on at 3200 ft and kept them on until 2500 coming down. The slabs up high are covered with around 1" of light fluff.
So happy I picked a bluebird day for this one as the hike along the ridge is just incredible and I saw nobody at all except at the top where a guy had come up the other way (and wondered what my dog was howling about) :).
#39 for me. |
