Haystack Road was open this morning as was Gale River Road, one car at 7AM, maybe five cars in the lot when I left at 12PM, but it looks like both are now closed according to Scott B's recent post. Plan accordingly, most likely all the roads will be closed as soon as there are no cars left at the trailheads. |

Bypassed the first two crossing and headed upstream and rock hopped across the third with one step slightly beneath the water. Glaze ice on top of most rocks today made for a tricky hop across. |

Pretty straight forward conditions. Dusting of snow down low and an inch above 4K, put on my rock spikes between the Twins and kept them on until Galehead Hut. Most of the ice could be avoided by hopping on the rocks. Bushwhacked through open hardwoods from the Gale River Trail to just below the snowmobile gate at the top of Gale River Road and took corridor 11 to Haystack Road to make a nice loop of the Twins and Galehead.
Beautiful morning in Twin Mountain, wind was a non factor and the temps were pleasant, great views from North and South Twin, Galebump not so mcuh!
