Some muddy and frozen mud spots over the first mile in the open hardwoods. Once in the softwoods the trail had some ice in spots but we didn't have to put on traction. Until we get good snow, bring your rock spike just in case.
Nice morning out with a light dusting of snow. Got an early start to beat the crowds, lots of friendly hikers on trail coming up as we were finishing up. Saw Captain Sweatpants peeing right in the the parking lot. If you drive up from Mass, please do not piss right in the parking lot, if you can drive hundred plus miles and hike seven miles, you can walk a few feet into the woods to pee. |
