Light Traction |

| Water Crossing Notes: |
Used the “trail†to keep the river on my right side until the final crossing (which bypasses two spots, I believe). It was tricky to find the dry way across, but ultimately manageable. Available rocks were not particularly slippery. |

| Comments: |
Haystack Rd was still open with a few people camping. Trail was wet and muddy in many spots for much of the first 2.5-3 miles. Was able to avoid the worst if it until coming down in the dark. Light snow fell late afternoon from that point to the summit. Switched to microspikes for the last mile or so as there was some ice under a light layer of snow. Wish I had my crummy rock spikes instead of the brand new ones; didn’t feel the need for more than very light traction at any point. . No views at the top yesterday afternoon. Turned around before hitting South Twin- these shoulder season days are short! |
