 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Alton Mountain Road parking lot was just about full around 10 AM. Mt. Major lot was just about full then, but was overflowing onto the road this afternoon. Jesus Valley Road parking no longer exists. |

 | Water Crossing Notes: |
The beaver pond crossing on Old Stage Road was very tricky (either side of the bridge is flooded for a few dozen feet, the more difficult being the far side). Regular water crossings were no issue. |
|
 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
We removed a blowdown at the bottom of the Anna Red Trail (a stepover remains) and cleaned the waterbars. |

 | Comments: |
No snow or ice encountered. The beaver pond crossing at the low point of Old Stage Road was tricky from the continued flooding. On the way in, we chose to bushwhack around the pond. A bit out of the way, but generally good woods.
Anna Red Trail was mostly dry with some areas of slippery oak leaves. The Carbonneau Cave spur sign is missing, so one has to keep their eyes open for that spur (there's sort of a wide area on the trail a tenth or two before the water crossing; the cliffs are visible from the trail). From the summit of Anna, we descended the Blue Trail for a tenth of a mile or so to get the excellent near-summit view.
From the viewpoint, we bushwhacked back down to the water crossing, picking up a very faint old Dave Roberts path. Generally open woods for bushwhacking.
Back at Old Stage Road, we crossed and ascended Goat Pasture Hill; decent directional views a hundred yards or so before reaching what I think is the highpoint (small cairn to the right of the trail when going southbound). Generally dry to with a few minor seeps.
Weather forecast was another dud; instead of decreasingly cloudy, it was increasingly showery. No major downpours, but just enough to need the wipers on the drive back. Full lot (no room for overflow parking, as road is heavily signed no parking), but trails were quiet. |
