| Comments: |
Most of the trail is a thin layer of snow that was not slippery. Ice flows on lower section of trail in the hardwood forest section below the traverse. Also, a short stretch of ice on the trail just uphill of the spring. I was able to bare boot with careful foot placement on rocks or flat areas in the icy areas. I would recommend carrying microspikes or some other traction in case you wish to use them.
Great views of the Presidential Range from Mt Starr King and the blow down area off the Kilkenny Ridge Trail just beyond the summit of Mt Waumbek. Nobody has hiked to the Weeks since the last snow. |
