Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Was the only car when I arrived and left. Work is being done to double the parking area to avoid the many cars parked along NH 116 in the summer. When I got back a big truck and an excavator were working on the entrance road to the parking area to smoothen out the rocks and making a ditch along the entrance stretch to improve that rocky part. I think the Tamarack summer camp is behind that effort.

Comments
Comments: It was a delight to finally hike on a dry, frozen trail. The Mt. Kinsman trail was ice free until the last bog bridge. After that I put on my microspikes. The iceflow increased as one got up higher. The other trail report by "Sergeant Pepper" covered the Kinsman Ridge Trail. Microspikes were adequate to do this hike safely.
