Comments
Comments: Beautiful hike of the often underrated Owls Head. I started with starlit skies and snow showers and ended with mixed sun and heavy squalls. The BP bushwhack is very obvious at this time. The trickest part for me is at the beginning of bw to take a hard right and resist the instinct to head uphill. Brutus was obvious as well and the beginning was marked with 2 small rocks. I ended up descending via the slide which was a mix of somewhat heavy waterflow and ice. This will be the last time till summer on the slide for me. Brutus is much safer.Micros went on at about 3400 ft at end of BB at the split Rock. They stayed on until heading back over the second crossing as the rocks were ice glazed and this helped as well as stepping on submerged stones. It was nice crossing paths and chatting with 2 fellow Gridders. Today's hike leaves Mt Isolation to grid out November.
