Quick hike of these two peaks. There was a minimal trace amount of snow/ice starting at 3100ft. Nothing more than a dusting on the entire hike. Micros went on at first scramble as there was spotty black ice and ice glazed rocks. Not sure if it helped or not but I felt better with them on. Encountered fresh bear tracks at viewpoint. The ascent to Passaconaway was tricky as rocks were ice glazed and seemed slippery in spots even with micros. It appeared to me that someone moved the small Passaconaway summit cairn, maybe covering the remains of a small campfire.
Great morning to be out and was nice briefly chatting with the two hikers I met on the way out. |
