Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Rock hoppable, trickiest being the one at the end (if going clockwise) of the south side of the loop.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: I recollect a minor stepover between North and Middle. The wilderness sign at the start (if going counterclockwise) of the loop looks like it was smashed/taken.

Comments
Comments: Livermore Road dry and in good shape. Noted a new sign just past the Greeley Ponds junction that says no dogs allowed on Livermore Road December-March and that all hikers must be either on skis or snowshoes. In other words, this winter, you can't bareboot or Microspike the Tripyramids from this side; you have to earn the peaks.

Mt. Tripyramid Loop was about as good as it gets this morning. There were a few minor patches of black ice ascending the North Slide, but they were easily avoided (and are in places that one would have to be on the lookout for slippery ledge in the summer). No ice bulges or snow encountered. Ground is frozen.

The ridge was also snow/ice free; mud was frozen solid.

South Slide was snow/ice free and easier to descend than during the summer thanks to the frozen ground (not as much loose material). The traverse back to Livermore was also generally dry with some frozen mud.

Obviously conditions may change with the forecast precip later today.

Relatively quiet trails this morning and partly sunny skies. Temperatures a little bit below freezing and a slight breeze between Middle and South, but otherwise fairly nice weather.
