Took the AT up and Ranger Trail down for a nice loop hike. AT had a few nice viewpoints on the way up to the fire tower. Leaves were a bit slippery in spots. Not too much mud. Some of the rock slabs were wet and quite slippery. A few icy roots too higher up.
Tower steps and railings were icy, but with care you could climb up and get a great 360* view. Sun was melting the ice as the clouds cleared.
Descent on Ranger Trail was a little rough footing at first with the leaves covering the rocks. |
