Comments
Comments: We barebooted up the standard Ski Trails for hikers around 7:30 AM. All was fine until we got near the top, as the snow guns were on full blast. With the prevailing wind, we got totally soaked. We decided to play it safe and put on the spikes descending Wildcat D and kept them on up and back on Wildcat Ridge and part way down the Ski Trails. The hike could easily have been done without traction, if care was exercised. The Wildcat Ridge Trail was in great condition, being mostly frozen with about a half inch or less of fresh snow, with a few small ice patches. Thankfully, the wind had changed when descending the Ski Trails and we did not get nearly as wet. We had the pleasure of running into Tim & Gryffin and John & Pepper. Great to see you all. We later ran into John and Pepper again when descending the Ski Trails and walked out with them. It was the third time I have run into John & Pepper in the past two weeks! Views were marginal of the Presis and Carter Dome, but the view down to Carter Notch near the Wildcat A summit was outstanding. Great hiking again with Brent today!
