Comments
Comments: Wet trails today due to the morning rain, and on and off showers during the hike. I hiked this loop clockwise, heading up Davis Hill Trail. From the height-of-land, I did a very short and easy bushwhack to the unrecognized high point (appears to be a large boulder), which is also the highest point in Chesterfield.

About halfway around I visited the FOP Shelter and off the shelter spur trail I discovered the unmarked but signed Dort Knob Trail, a short, rough path which leads to a cleared NE outlook.

A couple of hunters were parked along NH 63 at the snowmobile entrance and one other vehicle was in the lot when I returned, but I saw no one. Much cooler today, feeling more like November than August.
