Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: All water easily crossed on rocks. No concern of ice covered rocks today. The crossings near the Cedar Brook and Hancock Loop Trail junction may be difficult in high water.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: 6" to 8" diameter evergreen across Hancock Loop Trail between the loop junction and North Hancock. Easy to step over log. Evergreens at high elevations near North Hancock and the ridge link are closing in on the trail and will need trimming. No problem today but may be bothersome once laden with snow. Erosion on the steep portions of the Hancock Loop Trail. The Cedar Brook relocated section requires hardening to eliminate the mud pits.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Saw three dogs today. Dogs must be comfortable with steep terrain and loose rock surfaces.
Bugs
Bugs: None

Comments
Comments: Got in a hike while the mild temperatures hold. Completed hike before the moderate rain commenced. No views today.
Mud and some standing water on the low elevation trails. The descent on from South Hancock is steep with loose rocks resulting in poor footing.
There were more hikers on the trail than I expected on such a bleak day.
