Fire Warden's Trail is one SMOOTH ride up to 4000'. This has to be the easiest route to a 4000'er in the White Mountains. It was mostly dry with small stretches of avoidable mud. Great views of the Peak Above the Nubble from the bare birch forest most of the way up. Nice restricted view of Washington and neighbors near the top. Chatted with 4 friendly hikers on the summit and one hiker at the end of the day on North Twin Trail who we passed (because Margaret sprinted the last .75 miles of the day-her energy level was off the charts despite hiking Tecumseh and Pine Mtn. the last couple of days). 2/48 for Margaret!!! |
