Comments
Comments: Perfect weather...I was in short sleeves about half of the day.

There are few views on Middle Osceola, but close to the level summit area is a spectacular if narrow outlook to the top of the 1995 slide, with main Osceola to the right.
Herd path is continuous to Middle Osceola, but very difficult to follow. There is a fork about 10 feet from Mt. Osceola Tr.; take the right fork, which is straight ahead and a bit more visible. The next difficulty is a sharp right turn shortly after a large boulder, marked prior to yesterday by a very small granite cairn. (If you miss this, as I did, you will head downhill to a blowdown area with a view of Middle Osceola thru the trees; I turned back and noticed the footpath to north.) There is some minor braiding; a high quality compass and navigation skills are important for this route.
