I was at the trailhead early, there was one day hiker ahead of me. I met a couple of overnighters heading down on the way up. I shared the summit with one other hiker for about 15 minutes and then the crowds started to move in. The hike down was pretty steady progression of hikers and dogs heading up. The majority were courteous, stepping off to allow some distancing. When I got back to the parking lot, the lot was full and overflow went over the bridge and down the road.
Hard to believe it was a November hike. I had traction but never needed it, there are minor ice patches in the rocks past the trail junction but easy to rock hop.
It definitely looks like the Garfield Pond bypass is getting a lot more use these days. |
