Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Crossings were rock hoppable but where the beavers had worked, just after the junction, there is a beaver dam with some flooding across the trail and needing a good balancing act to traverse.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Just some high duck unders.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Water down low but none above so you would need to carry plenty on such a hot day.
Bugs
Bugs: Troublesome as we ascended making for very short stops. Zillions of black flies/gnats beyond Signal Ridge, along with thousands of mosquitoes! An occasional breeze through the viewing platform allowed us to eat a quick lunch but stopped any hanging around even up there.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Found small container of sum tan lotion..#50.

Comments
Comments: A truly gorgeous day to be on the top of Signal Ridge and Carrigain but the bugs were a real problem spoiling the time spent viewing and naming the peaks. Big group of OTHH, split into 2 groups, all had a good day out.
