Comments
Comments: A last minute decision to meet to hike was the best decision but we should have confirmed with one another exactly where we were meeting. Gaia has this trail WRONG and the Southern NH Map cuts off just south of Orange Mt. BTW there is cell service right at the 4 Corners but none anywhere below it. A late start got later but so what! Just before 2 pm we started hiking, That meant we had to turn around at 3:30 to get out before dark at 5 pm. Our plan was to make it to Orange and we thought we would just make it and we did. We saw the little pointy sign on the right that pointed to the trail on the left with a white blaze. The trail is well blazed and easy following the blazes, but there are several paths that must be locals trails that might lead one a stray, so follow the white blazes. Lovely path through the forest with many vistas off of ledgy knobs. Orange Mountain's panorama can be complete with a little walking around, Here we met a man and he was headed down Vistamont. On the way back the light from the setting sun was magical. We made it back to Church Hill Road just after 5. Noticed an old stone footings/foundation on the east side of the trail between Brown Mountain's bumps. Fun hike
