Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: One fallen tree at ~ 2350' which is an easy step-over. There are a couple of gnarly branch tangles just off the trail in the initial woods walk up on the hill - the second of which is just before where the trail meets the bridle portion. Had my folding saw not been in another pack I would have made those spots a little neater.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: I saw four today.
Bugs
Bugs: None.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Nothing.

Comments
Comments: Garfield Trail starts out dry with spots of wetness until ~ 2800' when it starts to fill in with ice. This goes on until ~ 3100' when I had enough tip-toeing and donned a set of rock spikes. A few hundred more feet in elevation the trail became more of a wet snow than ice and that continued until the junction - depth was maybe 4 inches or so. This short section of Garfield Ridge Trail was a sloppy, slushy mess. I left the spikes on until ~ 2800' on my way out. Of course all of this is just a snapshot taken today as conditions will no doubt change in the coming days with continued warm weather.

It was beautiful day with vivid views of the surrounding ridges at the top. There was a gust of wind every once in a while but pretty comfy otherwise. When people ask me what my favorite peak is I keep coming back to Garfield...and it's days like today that remind me why.
