Comments
Comments: Dusting of snow that turned into a few inches. Lots of dry rocks sticking up, recipe for wrecking your mirco-spikes. We bare booted the entire day using just our hiking poles for added traction. People we saw on the trail were wearing their spikes but there really wasn't much for them to stick to with mostly just a little slippery packed snow. Saw everything out there people headed to Everest and a young man in cotton and muck boots (he was fast and made it). Super nice day to be out, started out at 13 degrees and was high 30s when we got back to the car. Was windy and sunny, googles were a good thing to have along today. Cog is running to their shelters one mile up the tracks from the station. Was fun waving to people in the train waving back to us. I'd never hiked the Cog Right of Way before and it was a decent escape from the summit. Becca and I had a fun day.
