 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Parked at Highland Center, plenty of spots.
Many people parked along road to save on the parking fee. |
|
 | Surface Conditions: |
Dry Trail, Snow - Trace/Minimal Depth, Wet Trail, Ice - Blue, Wet/Slippery Rock, Standing/Running Water on Trail |
|
 | Recommended Equipment: |
Light Traction |
|
 | Water Crossing Notes: |
Two water crossings. Both pretty short and easy to cross on rocks. Poles helped. Be careful of clear ice forming on top of some rocks. |
|
 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Ground had recently frozen (mostly) which helped keep the trail in good shape. |
|
 | Dog-Related Notes: |
Saw many, lots of cool breeds. All seemed fully capable. |

 | Comments: |
Trail was in good shape. Microspikes take your hike from laser-focus-on-staying-up to a pleasant trek. Saw many people without spikes getting off trail and hanging onto trees. Thankfully, the ground recently froze, minimizing their damage.
Great weather, cool and clear. View from the top was outstanding and the ledge was pretty dry and ice free. The shaded trail was where the melt-off became ice sheets and drainage on the trail. |
