parked in Edmands trailhead lot off Mt. Clinton Road. 3 spots in lot when I arrived at 7:45 am, those were filled by 7:50 am and people began parking on side of Mt. Clinton Road. Lot was half full when I returned at 3:00 pm, still some cars on Clinton Rd. |

| Surface Conditions: |
Wet/Slippery Rock, Snow - Unpacked Powder, Standing/Running Water on Trail, Snow/Ice - Frozen Granular |
|
| Recommended Equipment: |
Light Traction |
|
| Water Crossing Notes: |
There are two on Edmands Path and both were easily crossed with rock hoping |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
trails were in very good shape. Very light snow at bottom of Edmands; by 1 mile up Edmands Path there was snow covering the trail and by 2 miles up ice on the trail. I put light traction on about 3/4ths of a mile below Eisenhower Junction and it was definitely needed. Kept traction on 2 miles down Edmands when I returned. Traction required on all of Crawford Path. |

| Comments: |
Amazingly clear day, if my reading was correct Mt. Washington Observatory said 120 mile visibility. I believe I saw sun reflecting off ocean at 10 am when hiking on Crawford Path, I could not see it later at 11 am. Crawford Path had 8 to 10 inches of snow all the way to cutoff for Mt. Monroe and traction was needed. Some wind early but then almost nothing. No one but me on Monroe Summit at 11, but there was definite crowd on Eisenhower that you could see when hiking back down Crawford Path toward Eisenhower.
Mid Fall conditions on Clinton Road, winter conditions at 4000 feet. |
