Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: A couple of mucky sections, no big deal. We went down to the pond on the marked trail, and took the old trail along the pond to connect back up to Wachipauka Pond Trail going north. It was definitely wet all around, but avoidable - would not go this way in a wetter season.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: After the Webster Slide spur turns back to the northeast and starts climbing steeply, the trail is very rough, rooty, and eroded. It looks like the trail could be relocated farther to the west (that is, go farther up the col before turning and ascending) to take advantage of a more gentle grade and keep erosion down. There were a number of fairly large blowdowns on Wachipauka Pond Trail, but all could be stepped over. And the log bridges in the wet section are reaching end of life.

Comments
Comments: Nice, low key hike. Not all that much of a view from the top, although we scouted around. Saw two other solo hikers all day. Very leafy trails, which made it a bit slippery - no surprise this time of year. Some light snow at the peak of Webster Slide, but it was nice in the sun and cold in the shade.
