| Comments: |
Really a beautiful day with clear sunny skies, almost no wind, temps in the 20's and views for miles.
Bare-booted Great Gulf and Osgood to tree line, then microspikes to the summit and down the first half of Daniel Webster Scout.
The combination of only 3 inches of new snow on the talus and boulder fields, especially descending Daniel Webster Scout, made for very difficult and slow travel, requiring careful and methodical foot placement. Definitely a bit more care is needed for the time being, at least until significant snow arrives.
We only saw 4 people all day. |
