Parking/Access Road Notes: Parked at Appalachia approx 5 vehicles on arrival 28 on return

Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Wet Trail, Wet/Slippery Rock, Standing/Running Water on Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable

Water Crossing Notes: No issues  
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Trails are in great shape. The upper part of Valley Way below the Tentsite has approx 5 blowdowns. The Airline Trail between the intersection of Upper Bruin Trail and the Scar Trail have 13 blowdowns all but a couple are easy walk under and 2 require ducking

Bugs: None-strangely cobwebs up to alpine zone on Valley Way 
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Found a roll of toilet paper and clothing at hut. Usually would pack this out but no room today in pack..sorry 
 
Comments
Comments: First time sunrise hike of Mt Madison. I encountered freezing fog and rime ice with strong winds starting at alpine zone. The trails were quite wet and occasional partially frozen puddle. It was nice chatting with the 9 hikers I met descending Airline.
