| Water Crossing Notes: |
At approximately mile 2.0 of Lincoln Woods trail the short bridge over Birch Island brook is barricaded (I imagine some people ignore the closed sign and walk around the barricades). The day following rain it wasn't possible to rock-hop the brook where the social path to the East of the bridge was. Easier on the left due to a sandbar in the brook, but no natural pathes up and down the embankment there. To protect vegetation and since I had waterproof gaiters, I stepped through the brook on the right. The multiple crossings of Black brook were rock-hoppable. |

| Comments: |
Saw 15-20 other parties all day. Clear water was available to filter as deep as eight miles into the hike. 9.1 miles if you count the remaining puddles of rainwater near the summit of Bondcliff. There were some short areas where mud was difficult to avoid. Mostly between miles 6.0 and 7.2 around the first three crossings of Black brook. |
