| Comments: |
Lots of standing water on Lincoln Brook Trail. Quite a bit of leaf covered mud, as well. It's been a decade since my last Owl's Head ascent, and as having heard, both whacks are now well established hear paths. Yikes. The third crossing was difficult. I forded and my hiking partner slid across on two large trees crossing the brook about 75 yards downstream. With all the leaf cover, Black Pond whack was hard to follow by headlamp on the return. Thanks for GPS, otherwise we'd have had to take a bearing on the pond and then follow it around to hit the trail. |
