I forgot just how beautiful 19 Mile Brook Tr is. Pretty much every trail is wet & slippery. About 150 yards before Cater Dome summit a large porcupine standing in the trail. Had a staring contest before it allowed me to pass. 2 outlooks with beautiful views of the Prezis. Mt Hight is one on my favorite summits, incredible views. Lots of blowdowns heading to South Carter & Middle Carter. Recent axe work, all cleared thank you. Summit of South wider than last time here due to blowdowns being cleared. Nice views from ledges of Middle. North Carter Trail is a wet sloppy mesh with lots of erosion. Top of Imp also very wet. Dodge Cutoff easy to spot but now marked with pink flagging, not really necessary. Only saw 8 people all day. Long day but beautiful fall weather! |
