Parked at the end of Carter Mountain Road at the Class VI road sign. Lots of mud on the logging road. I would not suggest going down further without 4 wheel drive and a high clearance vehicle |

What a gem. I have lived in New Hampton for 5 years and never made it to the summit (after a failed attempt a couple years ago). The cabin and views are a big surprise and I will be doing this on a regular basis. The trail is mainly marked with orange marking tape and is easy to follow once you find it from the logging road landing with a big berm on it. My friend and I did not see a single soul on the trail. Leaves are very wet this time of year and there is some standing water underneath some areas. |
