We started out closer to 8am, and were the only car parked there. We didn't see another person until we were heading back down from the summit. On our descent we saw four sets of other hikers. Half of them looked properly prepared.
Trail was mucky, muddy and a river. We cleaned and seeped out a few water bars along the way, but as well traveled trail as this is...it is past repair in a lot of places. We wore higher boots, and gaitors round trip. Carried microspikes, but managed to make it round trip without them. Debated putting them on below the ledges, but managed. Remaining snow started at about 3200' and was soft mush.
Presi's were in the clear, and the snow line had clearly also made the trending shift upward in elevation. |
