| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
The small lot was nearly full with cars parked along the road on that side at 8:30. The other lot across the street has been bulldozed (?). |
| Surface Conditions: |
Dry Trail, Leaves - Significant/Slippery |
| Recommended Equipment: |
| Water Crossing Notes: |
The water crossings weren't difficult, although water levels were higher in the afternoon than in the morning. |
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Fallen leaves are accumulating up high especially. Some attention is needed to stay on trail and avoid hidden rocks, etc. Water bars are starting to fill up with leaves. Blowdowns were pretty easy to get beyond. |
| Dog-Related Notes: |
This should be a good dog hike for dogs who are good at staying with their two legged friends. |

| Comments: |
This was my second time hiking Mt. Parker, at the same time of year as the first. That hike had its own attractions, but there was no view beyond the summit area due to fog/cloud, so I'm not counting it. This hike turned out to be a spectacular way to finish off the 52 With A View list. There was no snow on Mt. Parker, but the Presidentials and some of the other peaks were covered with snow on a sunny, beautiful autumn day. The views in many directions are a great reward for a nice hike in the woods. Oak Ridge is fun. Don't miss the lone grave in the tiny cemetery on the east side of the trail near the trailhead of Dr. Leonard M. Eudy, "he gave his life for the people of Barlett." |
