Comments
Comments: The trails are wet and muddy near the bottom with slushy snow below tree line. Above tree line there was about 10” of snow with a couple drifts of 1.5’. Nobody had snow shoes and I don’t think they were necessary since the snow depth quickly tapered off as you got lower. On the way up Gorge Brook there were a couple places that were starting to get icy as people packed down the snow but we never used spikes even though we carried them. Snapper trail had even less snow as we came down later in the day and it may well all be melted by tomorrow. The white snow added some nice contrast to the few areas that still had a bit of fall foliage colors.
