Ragged East Peak (Pinnacle), Old Top, Ragged West Top, Ragged Mountain, Spear Mountain, New Canada Road, Patterson Farm Trail, Beaver Pond Trail, North Wilton Road
Today we completed our Covid project that we started in April, traa daa we finished the SRK Greenway and we did it backwards SKR for us ha ha. We started at the Wilmot Library and finished there today. Trails 9 & 8. Good effort up from Proctor Academy, out and back to Old Head, hit the high point of Pinnacle a little rock cairn not far off the trail and then a big further there was a railroad spike in the rock but it isn't the highpoint. Nice hike down down and up to West Top, guess canister is long gone but the little white north pointing arrow is still painted near the highpoint. At Ragged's sixpack terminus a crew was assembling gizmos to add to the communications tower. High point had a bunch of debris piled on it from widening the service road to the tower but we fixed that... We took a heard path to Spear Mountain and ate lunch up top and enjoyed some nice ledges along the way. Met a couple people headed up with no clue where they were going, we answered their stupid questions and hoped they didn't get lost. Wanna come back to follow the Game Club's trails that spin off the Greenway . We enjoyed the walk past the camp on Eagle Pond and all the stone walls and foundations on Patterson Farm Trail. There is a swell picnic table behind the Wilmot Meeting House where we enjoyed a cold beverage and snacks. Zippy Do Dah |
